Saturday, December 25, 2021 - Last two bottles of case of 6 bought in 2005 for around €25 per bottle - what a bargain! Fully developed but no decline either. The fruit and acid/tannin structure remain in balance, and the concentration and complexity are pronounced. Outstanding wine, despite the supposedly average vintage. Drink now or hold for the next five years.

Clear and medium garnet in colour. Pronounced nose - cooked and dried dark fruit - blackcurrant, plum, prune, oak - cedar, clove, tertiary - earth, leather, cigar box. Fully developed. Dry palate, high acidity, high fine tannins, med alcohol, medium body, med+ intensity flavours of blackcurrant, prune, earth, smoke, spice, a little green blackcurrant leaf. Long finish.
