The bottle was decanted at the start of the meal - only a small amount of sediment (it has been stored upright for the prior week). Nose never fully developed for me. First taste was unpleasantly acidic, but after 45 minutes it began to evolve through a series of stages with varying degrees of dark red/black fruit and warm-but-fully-resolved tannins, finally declining to another unappealing state. Too strong for my fish course but nicely balanced for my lamb course.
