Wednesday, August 24, 2022 - This was decanted for the better part of the afternoon. There is a slightly riper take (showing the hallmark of the vintage), but it isn't overripe with red-fruited tones of berries, red cherries, plums, herbs, tobacco notes, violets, crushed flowers, anise, and some potpourri. The Medium bodied feel has some extra weight with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium+ tannins. The finish really lasts and the wine holds the vintage extremely well. This could likely benefit from another 3+ years to let it all settle in, though this is drinking very well if air is given.
