Friday, April 3, 2009 - Red Fish restaurant, open for about 3 hours. Disclaimer, I am not a real huge napa cab drinker because of the prices of the big names, but I have heard lots about this bottle and it did not disappoint. Nice dark purple color. Nose of charcoal, overipe blackberry, a hint of blueberry, a little olive, a little mocha, and some vanilla comming thru. On the palate there is rippened blueberry, dark blackberry, olive, mocha, vanilla, and high quality chewey tannin on the backend. The finish is very long. This is a great entry level cab and makes me want to explore more into Napa's cabs. Very balanced wine overall, impressive effort at this price point and I will be looking for more to cellar. Hold. 50+5+13+17+8
