Tuesday, September 27, 2022 - Root Day - Plastic cork! Garnet core to crimson (almost fluorescent edge). Nose of confected blueberry, red cherry and raspberry along with a bit of spice and herbs. Very fruit forward and modern. On the palate it’s redeemed a little towards it’s old world provenance but not a lot. There’s some herbs on the palate giving some savouriness along with the exuberant fruit - mostly red on on the palate. The finish is medium in length with red fruit, spice and light herbs. I have to admit I was hoping for more given the 30 plus year old vines this is supposed to be coming from.
