Saturday, April 11, 2009 - Classic Bordeaux and California Cabs (Casa Dietz - Santa Ana, CA): This wine was holding up rather well considering its age. It's not often that one drinks (and enjoys) a 16 year old Chardonnay. Notes of preserved lemons, pastry cream, chopped almonds, and chalk. Smooth and delicate on the palate with a muted acidity. A delight to taste.
