Wednesday, November 23, 2022 - Not a wine that should’ve been stored for over 30 years, but it was definitely an interesting experience.
My bottle had been stored in a cold but dry cellar most of those 30 years, so that might have helped.
First 2 glasses immediately after opening were closed, but after that the wine opened up showing a great structure with adequate complexity, and at its peak perhaps even a note of what might have been cherry 10 years ago. After about 40 minutes, the wine started declining, and especially the final note suffered.

All in all a fascinating experience, seeing a wine on its deathbed flourish and then disappear all in the span of an hour.

If you find a bottle, or get one for cheap at auction, definitely drink it as soon as possible, as you might still find something there.

The wine looks brick colored. The legs are slow. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. It smells like vanilla, cherry and oak. The body is medium. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.
