Sunday, December 11, 2022 - Popped and poured, and stupidly drank most of it about 5 degrees Celsius too cold. This note is from the last dregs of the bottle.
Wine is a turbid crimson. My last dregs included some sediment.
On nose, wine has some beautiful cherry, raspberry, and baking spice notes. Along with a little anise.
On palate, wine is sound, and it should be given I already drank most of it. Balanced acid, softening tannins, dry, and reflects nose perfectly. Touch of bay leaf and menthol.
This is a fantastic wine. I have another bottle of it in long-term storage so it probably won’t get cracked for years. If you have this, feel free to drink now but let it get to temperature!
