Friday, December 30, 2022 - Was rather dumb. Last bottle I had 9 months ago I felt it was blooming out a bit, but this one wasn't. Was decanted a couple of hours in advance, was very dumb on first tasting, but it did open a bit with shaking and later in the meal. But then drinking it over several subsequent days didn't really get any better. In fact it became rather unpleasant by the end.

In a funny place right now. It is clearly still early in its life, and I have another 6 bottles in remote storage and I guess they are going to stay there for a few years.

2/16/2023 4:50:00 PM - I think Jeb Dunnuck nailed this one in his 2018 TN. See my own TN of today, which notes btl. variation being a major factor in how this may age. My 2nd btl. was great; the first one didn't deserve a note.

2/17/2023 12:17:00 AM - Thanks for drawing attention to this. When I get around to opening another one, I shall have a substitute to hand in case I open another funny one.

But even with the bottle variation, I still think there's no harm in keeping this a few years longer. NR '15s will age.
