Sunday, January 8, 2023 - If you scooped one of these bottles ex-chateau, ignore all of the notes saying this is over the hill. Nothing could be further from the truth.

This wine is 24 years-young. Raspberry, blueberry, shoe leather, orange peel, brown sugar, all under the aromatic veil of a dank basement or wine cellar.

On the palate, complex and enduring notes of red currant, licorice, smoked meats, even a hint of watermelon--not like you just took a bite of one, but the lingering taste after eating a slice. The acidity is almost New World (in that it does not overpower, but provides enough life to keep the wine from being flabby).

Tannins still tough! Your tongue will feel like you licked a tea bag after a glass or two. Worth it.
