Saturday, January 7, 2023 - 2016 Grenache blanc AN 508 Les Vigneronnes Paris
A light orange-yellow suggests an amber wine. The nose shows lots of smoke, quarry dust, minerals and cordite along with the candied orange peel. On the palate, this is dust dry with lots of chalky, gunflint and smoke intertwining with Williams pear, orange peel, dried lemon towards smoked lemons, and a streak of honey. The texture is like chewing a pebble. Reasonably full, this is in the amber style and has a solid tannic grip, giving a phenolic feel. Complex, with a touch of development, this was a smart example of Grenache Blanc.
