Sunday, March 19, 2023 - Spicy nose on acid fruits
Drank in parallel with a Morgon Corcelette Mee Godard, it is its total antagonist. Where the Morgon is warm like a friend patting on the back, this Cumières is much more cerebral and feminine. It is almost diluted but the juice shows a serious wine with finesse with an acid frame that stretches it from start to finish. The wine plays on the register of wet stone and spices with a chalky finish.
Good, but I remain skeptical about the interest of many Coteaux Champenois and their price positioning. In comparative tasting, they really struggle to emerge.
