Sunday, June 4, 2023 - This is drinking very well already. In most vintages I favor leaving it be for at least a few years. There is really nothing tight or undeveloped about it today. Very nice strawberry and rhubarb expression in a sweet yet savory way. Hints of wood, pine, citrus and earth. Generous, expansive acidity. Focused tannin. The extraction seems mild here. It certainly doesn't look and feel all that fleshy. Very nice. Maybe not the depth of the best vintages yet likely still one of the very best Pinots from CA for the vintage. This should age at least a decade no sweat. Consistent over two nights.
