Friday, June 16, 2023 - Well this is a Premier Cru (the store/ponzi scheme) bottle that i actually received so it has that going for it.
This doesn’t really feel like a Barbaresco to me. I guess there is good acid but there’s also just a hulking wall of tannin that’s still a solid brick smashing your tongue even 13 years on and with two days open. Once that finally resolves there is some good herbs and toast and maybe black cherries. And tar. Overall over extracted? Aroma is a touch alcoholic to me too. So I guess what I’m saying is I think it needs time but also it’s not my style. Yet I do have another bottle so note to self try around 2030.
