Sunday, July 23, 2023 - Big nose with tons of fruit, ripe cherries, plums, raisins, spices, and earth. There’s a lot of everything on the palate, but the ripeness, tannins, and acidity are actually well balanced. The flavors are similar to the nose with the addition of darker berry notes, cinnamon, and sweet fruit. Long finish. I should have let this age at least for another 5-10 years. The wine initially reminded me of a lighter styled Amarone, but the raisin notes and alcohol toned down a bit with air. 93++
