Friday, August 25, 2023 - Napa 2023 - The Sequel; 8/23/2023-8/28/2023: Decanted for a short time (not sure how long). My favorite of the tasting, still a nice tannic backbone in place but nice balance developing between the fruit and earthy notes. Forest floor and black and red cherry complimenting each other, I think with more air, more complexity would have ensued. This has many years left but is certainly in the early part of a delicious drinking window.

8/29/2023 9:36:00 AM - Good TN, and wow, what a great trip! While I liked this wine pretty similarly to you (94), I thought it was further along in its maturity cycle. Above and beyond individual bottle variation, I bought my bottle (and 2 others) from a private party 3 years ago, so, although other bottles from that lot have drunk at or above expectations, it’s always hard to know how it was treated. If you’re ever in SF going to/from Napa and would enjoy doing a tasting, please LMK. Cheers!

Will do on the tasting offer! Appreciate you guys turning on the outdoor AC for a couple of days, it was nice to wear a pullover on a sunny day in August.
