Thursday, October 12, 2023 - Decant in glass for 2+ hours. Inky purple with dark garnet edge in color. Muted nose of kirsch, black currant & gorgonzola. NOTE: drank over two days and it was still in the process of opening on day two. On the palate: black currants, dark cherry and wood spice. Dry, dusty tannins perceived on cheeks, gums and tongue. Long finish of dark fruit and wood spice. This needed more time in the cellar...maybe even a decade.
