Thursday, November 2, 2023 - Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia; 11/1/2023-11/9/2023 (Republic of Georgia then stopover in Paris and Dijon): Expressive nose displaying sweet concentrated black fruit, blackberry, blackberry liqueur, licorice, liquid smoke, pepper, sweet spices and crushed rocks. There is a hint of oxidative note that is not bothersome. Excellent concentration, generous sweet black fruit, rich and unctuous but also showing a good balance, medium acidity and mineral, and a long sweet black fruit driven peppery finish. I noticed a hint of residual sugar. According to the wine make, this is a completely dry wine but 15% plus alcohol This is a very unique wine for me.
