Sunday, December 3, 2023 - I was not expecting much, or indeed, anything as this was one of those bottles that has been lurking in my cellar for way too long. First impressions were positive, it smelled distinctly fruity with a touch of leather. Decanted (throwing a heavy sediment) it was a deep garnet colour with pale garnet at the edges in the glass. Soft forest fruits, autumn leaves, a touch of raisin, balsamic and leather. Really rather nice but definitely for drinking up if you have a bottle that has been lucky enough to last. I had it with Italian stewed pork with porcini and juniper berries.
