Monday, December 4, 2023 - Retail $49? Under cork. I have a limited experience with Rhys and this wine (like the Chardonnay) is listed as an "Alesia" wine. According to the website, the Alesia line is a more approachable cuvée while the non-Alesia line is a wine that is perhaps a bit more complex. I am pretty sure this is the latter, but that is not an option here on CT, for whatever reason. this wine, though? Pretty fantastic with great fruit (Bing cherry), earth, weight, and enough verve to keep it beyond interesting. A pretty fantastic California Pinot Noir.

12/9/2023 6:28:00 PM - Alesia has meant different things in different years. In this year, it simply meant the non-vineyard-designated wines, which are generally less age worthy. Because this has been confusing, they have completely dropped the Alesia label starting in 2020.

12/12/2023 12:50:00 PM - Thanks for the comment. The label seemed straightforward enough: there was no mention of "Alesia" but that was not an option on CT.

12/23/2023 7:33:00 PM - I see. That's a different wine, according to Rhys charts. I don't know why it's not on CT: I don't think I had any so perhaps not much was made.
