Wednesday, January 10, 2024 - Dinner at Foliage (San Francisco): Very distinctive nose with lots of green bell pepper, fragrant black cherries, leather, a good amount of menthol, and some cassis. Lovely palate with good acidity and complexity, more dark cherry and fruit flavors, and some underwood. Long and lingering finish that is quite primary still. This is a powerful yet elegant and very well balanced wine. It's not easy drinking and I found this the most challenging out of all the wines tasted that night, but it's also the most interesting to me.
