Saturday, January 20, 2024 - Nose: Cassis, ripe dark raspberry. Palate: Prickly oak barrel on arrival, which transitions to black licorice followed by inky black ripe black raspberry; highly structured; chalky and hot tannins that pick up where the prickly oak began. On day two, the intensity of all the fruit, oak, 15.1% alcohol, tannin, and acid melds together into an even better wine than the day before; plenty of life left.
