Wednesday, February 14, 2024 - The last of 4 bottles consumed over the years, and the first three were closed down. In contrast, the wine had sprung to life in this final bottle and had bloomed into an excellent Cote Rotie. Popped and poured into a decanter, and the wine showed at its best immediately after pouring. Notes of smoke, bacon fat, coffee, violets, and black fruits. The intensity of the nose and palate had faded after being open 1 hour. The wine is at or close to full maturity. No need to wait any longer.
