Thursday, February 22, 2024 - Difficult one again,
Kept it to see, the wine still shows depth and concentration. Knowing the vintage and how it was in Bordeaux in those years I expect that wine to have been quite osmosed !
Meaning concentrated through reverted osmosis, to add sugar and concentration in a cold and wet vintage.
67 CS 33 Merlot

The wine has a lot of tertiary notes, not very long but complexity, and soft tannins, acid is good and has held the wine so far ... It s still 89+ kind of wine I guess It was definitely not dead, but people don't know anymore about wines with less opulence and fruit ! Sad but True !
Tasted alongside a 2007 Rouget Pomerol ... so 2 complicated years side to side to compare Merlot dominated and CS dominated wines in cold and difficult vintages. Used to call them winemakers vintages
