Friday, March 8, 2024 - The nose is cloyingly dense. Aromas of cherry kirsch, black tea, underbrush, sharpie, alcohol, along with a scorched earth note. Similar palate; viscous mouthfeel and the alcohol very present. I can only assume this is what cough syrup was like during World War II. The alcohol makes this wine feel flabby and disjointed. This strikes me as a hammer smashing Jimmy Suckling meets Robert Parker slugfest. Short finish for the money.
