Saturday, April 27, 2024 - Such great value for money I would stock up on this mature St Julien. Decanted and drank over 2 hours. Dark ruby red color with some density to the body. Nose typical of 96 left bank, mature aromas of leather, pencil lead, perfumed cassis, black currants and hints of blackberries given the richness of the dark fruit. On the palate very delineated, well structured, some gaminess to it reminiscent of Chateau Margaux 96, yes I do mean Margaux! Beautifully crafted, complex structure, some sweetness to the tannins, velvety finish, decent length and expansive. This is hitting way above its weight.
