Friday, May 3, 2024 - I bought 2-3 bottles of this and kind of forgot about it in my cellar. I didn’t know what to expect, as I am not very familiar with the producer, but what a beautiful surprise! Healthy ruby color, with just a touch of lightening up towards the rim but no bricking yet. This is deep, layered, and aromatic, showing beautiful notes of ripe dark cherries, some spiced plum, exotic spices, but also really pretty flowery notes and some tar, there is also some tobacco leaf/menthol note building up with some air. It‘s medium-full bodied, with very good persistence on the mid-palate, it has nice pretty high acidity providing freshness to the depth and slight creaminess. The medium-high tannin seems ripe and already slightly integrated. Pretty long finish, too. A very complete Nebbiolo that would stand up tall to many Barolos/Barbarescos at double the price tag. This will still have many good years ahead.
