Wednesday, May 8, 2024 - The wine’s youth and cool vintage is evident the restrained and slightly hard initial feel to the fruit, but there’s good cured meat like prosciutto providing texture and interest on the palate. The almost ripe blackberry accented with black and green olive smooths out with air, but this is still going to need time before it becomes harmonious. Acidity is elevated relative to recent ripe vintages, but the tannins are still fine. I think this is a vintage which could produce some nicely purfumed wines with a few years in the bottle.

    5/9/2024 4:21:00 AM - Thanks for taking one for the team. I am sanguine about 2021 despite its many challenges, that the best producers have made worthy wines. And there's something to be said for wines that mature earlier.
