Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - Decanted 2 hrs and drank over about a 5 hr period. A lot going on the nose here. Cigar Box, leather and earth with some plums & prunes hiding in there too. Very full, solid and complex on the palate although did seem to notice a touch of a thin spot on the backend with firm but not overpowering tannins. Good finish with a little more minerality and even some metallic notes showing later in the evening.
A lot of interesting flavor components in a very well made wine.
