Saturday, July 25, 2009 - Probably my second least favorite of the vertical (02-07, behind the 03), the nose seemed shy and also for me reflected oak, which was not my experience on the other wines, and arguably, not for me a trace of oak on the even younger 2007, maybe like the 2003 even some heat. Again, some graphite/metal notes, with palate being better than the bouquet. Sweet plum, strawberry, candied red apple and a bit of brown spice/sugar.........the oak? Lacks the complexity of the 04, 05 and 07.
