Although when tasted at cellar door I thought it was good enough to buy, didn't think at the time it was up there with the 1994 and 1996 releases of this wine. However, after this bottle I must re-evaluate this release. Lots of rich fruit on the palate, plum and blackberry dominant. Not overly sweet by very full and complex with a long, drying finish. This went down really well over nibbleys on a hot Saturday afternoon. Great drinking now but definitely has another 3-4 years in it easily.
