The capsule revealed all, though, Slightly more leathery than the 86, with the fruit characters a bit more subdued, and not quite such a tremendous weight on the palate. But the length was quite comparable. I felt it didn’t quite match other bottles I’ve had in recent years, but then I didn’t drink them right after the 86! Another stunning wine – I suspect the 86 will live a little longer, but we’re talking decades here.
