90 Points

Monday, October 26, 2009 - Slow to open on night one. It is fairly concentrated and dark for Bosconia, with a nose that remains fresh despite the oxidative wine making. Juicy dark fruit cut by piercing acidity on the palate. A lengthy finish with plenty of acid again. I bit tight / light on the palate. On night two this is much more open, the fruit is much more developed and it is clearly improved. Sappy red fruits, woodsy aromas, sweet rich penetrating palate and persistant sweet red fruit and cinnamon on the finish. If you like Bosconia, this appears to be a great vintage in the making, as would be anticipated, and should provide a long future of great drinking. I'll put away a stash and forget about them for 5-10 years.
