Monday, October 26, 2009 - Medium red with considerable lightening (to the point of being tinged by yellow) at the rim. Dull and low toned nose of engine exhaus and earth with cow crap. While not dense with flavor, the texture strikes a nice balance between the fatness of ripe grenache with the firm tannic structure of the vintage. Midpalate grows fatter with air, with a slight spiritous quality, but there's still a juiciness beneath that's redeeming, as well as a finish that is just stiff enough. I'd age this more.
