Very complex nose, full of black fruit (cherries, black berries, even black currants) and complemented by layers of floral, sweet spice, oaky and toast notes. Palate is just amazing - layers of fruit complemented by sweet spice, oak and even mineral notes - tar, earth. Ripeness notes indicates this was from a very good vintage. Structure fit to support long-term ageing, tannins are medium (+) and still developing, medium (+) acidity and body. Medium (+) alcohol. One of the best Aussies ever tried. Really, really good. Went well with meat balls, however, the wine is absolutely ok to be consumed solo. Cheers!
