Sunday, March 28, 2010 - Wines at the Mill - Take 2 (Appomattox, VA): light straw color. unfiltered, you can see bits of stuff floating around, which might scare some people off, but for me it signals this could be something unique. it's incredibly aromatic. exlodes with lime, jalapeno pepper, cut grass, pineapple and chives. smells like a new zealand sauvignon blanc, with a bit more tropical fruit. the palate it zesty with lots of grapefruit, pineapple and spicy chive flavors. long finish with minerals. i was very surprised by this wine. tastes like it's from a cool climate. i know monterey is cooler than a lot of areas in cali, but i really like this style.
