Saturday, April 22, 2006 - A dense, consistent red colour. Nose is a little jammy but with some nice bright berry fruit. On the palate the fruit and spicy vanilla oak makes up the attack with some coffee and leather on the finish. The tannin, acidity and alcohol are perhaps playing as soloists rather than an orchestra but it makes for a very chewable wine. An interesting wine with more secondary character than expected.
