Saturday, May 8, 2010 - Another beautiful effort from Larkmead. Drank right out of the bottle with no decant and it was impressive. Nose was more floral than the cabernet, with a pleasant hazelnut and rich dark cherry mix. Slight alcohol burn on first sip, but mellowed quickly revealing lush dark fruit, with a very slightly minty finish. Full bodied with a ton of fruit. I expect this wine to smooth out and be absolutely beautiful in 2 years, and the LMV Salon (the "upscale" version of the Firebelle blend) should be stunning in 5 - 10.
