92 Points

Friday, May 5, 2006 - I'll add a few points the my uncle JBBridge's note from the same bottle:
This wine had an advanced color with some orange-bricking at the rim, but indeed seemed much younger on the nose and palate. In addition to the overtones listed in the accompanying note, there were subtle notes of horsey/barnyard, but in no way did they detract from the enjoyment of the bottle. The mouthfeel is balanced, with the tannins resolved--I agree this wine is a point, but will likely hold for at least 5+ yrs. Another great '83 that provides great enjoyment for a fraction of the cost of the preceeding year's wines.
