Sunday, June 6, 2010 - This was my first Monbo ever and after reading about the style I have to say I didnt find this overly CA/fruity in style. It screams French right from the nose and this wine is rather medium to slightly full bodied. Its certainly ripe but has bunches of earth and leafy tobacco elements to it. Surprised at how open this wine is right now as well. Finishes with just a mild amount of tannin and for me this seems to be in a pretty nice spot, maybe just on the start of evolution. I wouldnt think this one is going to make old bones.
