But then, there are no great wines, only great bottles... My experience tonight with this wine is very favorable, especially for the vintage. Luscious fruit, but with spine. Aromatics of clove and baking spices. Clean and delicious. Lacks a bit of freshness and acid, but a very pleasant and reasonably balanced drink. One of the better 08's from the RRV that I've sampled, and that's a large number.
