Thursday, October 14, 2010 - Dark maroon color. Expressive nose: blackberry reduction and dried black/red currant fruit with mocha, new leather, some smoky oak, and a touch of green nettle. Medium/full body on the palate: loads of juicy ripe blackberry and dried currant fruit framed by rich mocha latte, bruleed fig, graphite, and again a hint of green nettle. Solid balancing acidity. Moderate mouth-coating tannins. Lingering graphite/mocha and berry skin on the moderate/long finish. Could use a year or so in the bottle to help the oak integrate a bit more.
