92 Points

Sunday, November 7, 2010 - Inky purple. First nose of blackberry. Deep and gorgeous nose of ripe blackberry and cassis, vanilla incense which showed the character of cab. franc, notes of mocha and tar, no irritating alcohol at all. The palate had silky but firm tannin, unctuous mouthfeel and full-bodied, rich and concentrated ripe blackberry, layers of flavors with notes of chocolate and coffee, deep and robust, really low acidity. Medium to long finish of blackberry and dark chocolate and slight vanilla. Complete.
Individual and robust wine from a satellite of St Emilion. Excellent with deep and strong flavors. What a great and serious old-world style wine. For just 25 pounds, this is a sleeper and deserves 92 points.
