Monday, November 8, 2010 - The nose on this wine is very delicious, revealing notes of blackberry jam and a blueberry pie/crisp filling. I also get a little cinnamon stick and milk chocolate. However forward the nose is with its pure fruit, though, it smells very one dimensional and is quite hot.

I find the palate of this wine much more rewarding than the nose. Blueberry pie filling and subtle milk chocolate flavors carry over from the nose, and there is a really nice tart cranberry transition in the midpalate. This Zin finishes very smooth with notes of creamy oak. Not the most complex wine by any means, but a real pleasure to drink (in small amounts...boy is it heavy!)
