Saturday, September 25, 2010 - The wife and I opened for our wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. Dark violet in the glass and it's starting to brick beautifully. Nice complex wine. On the nose is vanilla, white pepper, cinnamon, blackberry, black cherry and rose water. On the palate is cherry, vanilla, allspice, blackberry, honeysuckle and fruit tart. Really interesting Opus, much more spicy than I remember past vintages. Was amazing with the filet mignon. Good balance and silky tannins. I'd say the tannins are peaking so I wouldn't hold too much longer. Soft mouth feel and medium body and finish at this point. Very balanced and harmonized. Great wine.
