Saturday, November 13, 2010 - Decanted back and forth a few times because the alcohol was really coming up big on this. I wouldn't suggest opening this wine for at least another 6 - 12 months. There's a lot of potential, but right now the heat was masking most of the vanilla, mocha, and fig undertones. The heat was present on the palate as well, masking a lot of the fruit, but the tannins were present, helping keep the wine together for some time. This bottle wasn't corked or flawed, I just think it's a wine that needs more time to come together.
