Saturday, January 1, 2011 - My last bottle of a case I bought 11 years ago and had opened the rest of bottles prematurely. This wine was outstanding. A perfectly open bordeaux with a typical nose of pencil-shavings, blackcurrent and sweet tobacco notes. Dark crimson wine, it did not exhibit many signs of bricking and only slight orange hues at the rim. The palate was velvety and smooth, and yet this wine, improved slightly in the glass over 1 hour. Long finish with tobacco accents. Good acidity. This is so pleasant to drink now and it may slightly improve over the next 3 years or so but it finally came out of its shell into being a very approachable bordeaux that is just hitting it's stride.
