Thursday, January 13, 2011 - It's alive! I took a risk a bought some 85 cabs because it was the vintage that got me hooked on wine. The color was deep garnet. At first, it had a vegetal, funky, musty, green pepper nose. This blew off after ten minutes. Fruit appeared like the genie from the bottle. Mature cherry, plum, cassis with ample cedar, oak and nice earthy tones. Vibrant red, tart finish. Loved it.
