Saturday, January 15, 2011 - Deep brick red color. A strong bouquet of ripe strawberries, dried fruit, anise, and a hint of tea. Silky texture on palate with sour dried red cherries, licorice, oak, and tobacco. Great fine, smooth tannins with terrific depth of flavor. Sweet raspberries on an earthy finish with moderate acidity. This should improve with age as well. A well refined Rioja.
