The wine was okay, but about midway through the evening Jeff shook his head and said "this is just a faceless red." He was right -- no layers of flavor, no intriguing nose, no extended finish. We aren't sure if this was just one of those moments of bottle variation or if the wine is going through a "dumb" stage. We'll probably leave the rest of our bottles in the racks for a while, just in case it is the latter.
